The action takes place in the kitchen-living room of a farmhouse in the Hope Valley, in this play by Sheffield-born Dr L.\u00a0\u00a0Du Garde Peach. Although we haven\u2019t yet found a full synopsis, a sudden interest in archaeology and the lucrative possibilities of old iron is the basis of the plot<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The revival of the society took another step forward, with this play.\u00a0\u00a0The review reports that there were capacity houses for each performance in the Norfolk Hill Methodist Chapel, with people actually being turned away<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Betty Bellamy produces.  All the actors were praised in the review.  Stage managers Victor Bellamy and Frank Skinn were commended for their scenery, particularly for the detail of the views through the window and the door<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The society\u2019s finances also improved, with the bank balance increasing (in today\u2019s money) from \u00a3280 a year ago, to over \u00a31,100 now<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
