This Jack Popplewell play concerns a talkative cleaning woman who keeps telling the cops how to mind their business and steps forward with the right evidence in every pinch.  She lives in the basement of the office building that she cleans, and one night she finds a body\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Betty Bellamy produces<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The set of office furniture was obtained partly from the Crucible Theatre, and partly from a local school. The rubber plant was loaned by a local resident!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phil Clayton played Detective Superintendent Baxter with a heavy cold, so his every entrance was heralded by a rasping cough and heavy sneezing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Incidentally, the first ever Grenoside Pantomime would have been rehearsing at this point, ready to be performed in the January. It was started by Barry and Margaret Twelves. Margaret was a dance teacher<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
