In this play by William Dinner and William Morum, three elderly ladies (Brenda Hester, Rachel Skinn and Elizabeth Birkby) “escape” from a retirement home.  They find an empty house and settle in – but then a visitor arrives who claims to be the new owner of the house.  He dies suddenly of a heart attack and so the ladies decide to put the body down an unused well and carry on as the new owners of the house! Complications ensue with the arrival of a young woman who has come to meet her uncle at his new home.  The local doctor (Roy Ollerearnshaw) arrives and tells the old ladies that the new well must be tested and if the water is impure, the old well will have to be re-opened! They now have to hide the body and their efforts give rise to chills and thrills of pure enjoyment<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Betty Bellamy produces.  Harold Carver joins . Hazel Hancock plays Jackie Jackson: she had been doing publicity previously. So far, we have found very few photos<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At one stage the body is hidden in a pram, and in one hilarious (and unrehearsed) moment, the pram almost ran off the stage into the front row!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
