This was the 8th time that the group has performed it, but it was just as good, and as well-attended as ever. The operetta for next March will be &#8220;Ruddigore&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">In the meantime, the play for October will be &#8220;Brassed Off&#8221; and rehearsals are underway. Performances will be October 14th to 16th at 7.30 pm, with a matinee on Saturday 17th. Tickets are available from Helen Bryant on 07971 264322<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">This website is an archive of all the photos we have of the original Grenoside and Birley Carr societies, and of the current group formed after the 2010 merger.&nbsp;&nbsp;So far that&#8217;s 2,300 photos, plus 210 programmes and lots of newspaper reviews<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color has-background has-medium-font-size\">Both societies started putting on shows in the late 1940&#8217;s, just after the Second World War.&nbsp;&nbsp;So far, in total, there have been an astonishing 280 productions, involving nearly a thousand different people.&nbsp;&nbsp;A few stay for only one or two, some current members have done over a hundred<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The archive is not finished, though.&nbsp;&nbsp;For about a quarter of the productions, we haven&#8217;t found photos or programmes yet, so if you have anything, please get in touch<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color has-background has-medium-font-size\">What we&#8217;d also love, is to hear your stories, memories and anecdotes. Funny things happen in amateur dramatics, and one person&#8217;s recollections will often trigger another person&#8217;s.
