The play deals with the consequences for individuals of taking life\u2019s corners recklessly and making foolish choices along life\u2019s journey.  It’s 1932, and a group of family and friends are discussing a radio play when a chance remark leads the conversation around a dangerous corner, setting characters against each other and challenging their casual assumptions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is J.  B.  Priestley\u2019 first play.  He is quoted as saying that he wrote it as a technical experiment as proof he could write for the stage.  It then became the most popular play he ever wrote. He is our most-performed author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Produced by Peter Race, who also provided the front door from his old house with authentic leaded glass.  The 4 ladies (all non-smokers) were called upon to smoke, using long cigarette holders<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To complete the look of an affluent family\u2019s drawing room, a suite of furniture was borrowed from Furniture Factors, a fake grand piano was made, and a Roger Pearson fireplace was found (which was sold after the play)<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
