The story by Alan Ayckbourn follows a young widower, Guy Jones (Jonathan Hester), as he joins an amateur operatic society that is putting on The Beggar’s Opera.\u00a0\u00a0He rapidly progresses through the ranks to become the male lead, while simultaneously conducting liaisons with several of the female cast<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Produced and directed by Steve Andrews. Alex Hayward-Browne joins, as Cripin Usher, and Steve Atkinson\u00a0appears (nearly) on stage, playing piano.\u00a0\u00a0This seems to be Jude Wright\u2019s last involvement, after 17 years. have a DVD, from Steve A\u2019s original video<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lighting was complicated, so the pantomime techies were drafted in to help. They even got a speaking part: at one stage, \u201cproducer\u201d Mark Winton marches through the audience to have an argument with his \u201clighting people\u201d!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
