John Dighton’s play is set in September 1949, where confusion reigns when St Swithin’s Girls’ School is accidentally billeted at Nutbourne College, a boys’ school…. Two simultaneous tours of the school premises are arranged: one for the girls’ parents, and a separate one for the governors, and never the twain must meet!
Steve Andrews directed, assisted by Mike Tipler
Oliver Jackson joins to play Hopcroft Minor. His father Chris played the same role in 1981
Kadie Akers joins (as Barbara Cahoun), plus Lynne Hickey as Prompt. We have a DVD, from Steve Atkinson’s original video. The death of Terry Glaves is noted, after only three G&S appearances. Also Mildred Cooper who was involved for 24 years between 1988 and 2012
This is our second favourite play (“When we are Married” is the most popular)
