1954-04 (GDS) Love’s a luxury

This is a frantic farce by Guy Paxton and Edward V. Hoile, set in Cranberry Cottage where two thespians go for peace and quiet.  But there’s a beautiful housekeeper… then the beautiful girlfriend turns up… then the wife turns up… so one of the men dresses up as an old housekeeper… then as a detective… then the real housekeeper turns up

We have only found a couple of photos so far

Once again, part of the proceeds were given to the fund for the new community centre (which will open in 1966)

It was produced by Gerald Kidney, although it seems to be his last involvement.  Elizabeth Birkby Snr joined, she will stay for 28 years

A small Pekinese called Rollie was part of the cast (but we don’t know why!)
