This comic opera was written by Edward German and Basil Hood. This performance is a concert version, followed by The Dear Departed, a one-act comedy play. Several new people join: William Wheeldon as Leader of the Orchestra, Marjorie Hornbuckle as Musical Director and Jack Burkinshaw as a tailor. Mick Barnaby joined as a Butcher, and stayed for 38 years
