We did this play once before, but that was 54 years ago, in 1969! The reason is probably that it needs an enormous cast of 41 characters. Luckily, lots of new people were persuaded to join: Abigail and Angela Brumpton, Andrew Bacon doing set construction, Brian Almand playing the piano accordion, Callum Haigh and Olivia Blake from panto, Carole Taylor, Chris Oates as Stage Manager, Elizabeth, James, Kevin and Lucy Meagher, Jane Laverack from Barnsley Trinity and Stannington, John Miller, Kate Smith, Lucas Korpal, Rob McWilliam, Sarah Wood and Will Godley
Steve Vere re-joins after 10 years, but it’s to be his last appearance. Miranda Allen also re-joins: she was last on stage 37 years ago!
