We don’t know yet if this was held at the Community Centre, or perhaps as part of a competition, but the three short plays were all produced by Betty Bellamy. We haven’t found synopses yet
We haven’t found programmes yet, and have only one photo so far
1. Haste to the Wedding, by Vera L. Arlett and Elma Verity, is set in the house of a young widow called Elizabeth Gray
2. Orange Blossom, written by Philip Johnson in 1943 and subtitled “A Cautionary Comedy”, is set in the sitting room of a small home in a country town, on a morning in spring. The programme notes that Julie Wood (already appearing in the third play) took over from Frances Morton at one day’s notice!
3. Check to the Queen, written by T.B. Morris in 1944, is set in a room in Whitehall Palace with Queen Elizabeth I and her ladies
