1968-10 (BC) None so blind

When wealthy industrialist William Whittaker loses his sight in Armitage Owen’s play, his relatives start to take advantage of him and they hope that his end will be soon too.  His sister tells him what is happening.  William goes to London for an operation, but when he returns the news is that he is still blind.  This is a ruse – he has been cured – but he wants to see what his relatives are getting up to

The sound man was Paul Heiney, who you might have heard of.  Paul was born in Sheffield, and attended Parson Cross Primary School. He went on to appear on radio and TV in That’s Life, Countrywise and Watchdog, and many other things.  He then worked a 36 acre farm using traditional methods, including shire horses.  After ten years farming, he then took part in a single-handed race across the Atlantic in his family boat.  An interesting man!
