In Falkland L. Cary’s play, Rose (Elizabeth Birkby) has convinced herself that she is an invalid and spends all her time lying on a couch with her husband Matt (Victor Bellamy) at her beck and call. Matt and the doctor (Frank Pickering) devise a plan. Matt pretends to have injured his leg and when Rose gets up to tend to him he jumps on to the couch so that she is unable to resume her role as invalid
The review notes that Nancy Bradshaw, a teacher at Grenoside Primary School, had to play Pam Pickersgill as a cheeky young schoolgirl in front of pupils from her own school

Betty Bellamy produced. This is the first appearance of Arthur Pover, playing Basil Graves. His name is mis-spelled as Plover in the programme, but it doesn’t seem to have put him off – he stayed and built the sets for 32 years hereafter! After doing Lighting for 14 years, this seems to be Eric Wyke’s last involvement
It seems there is a “controversy” between the society and the Chapel, and requests for a meeting to discuss have not been answered
