In this farce by Ray Cooney, Good friends Betty and Vic (Viv Stuart and Dennis Willis) arrive for Henry’s birthday dinner (Steve Vere) and Jean (Ruth Kerrigan) is frantic because Henry is late. When he eventually arrives he wants to emigrate immediately, and with good reason: the briefcase he accidentally picked up on the Underground is stuffed with £735,000! When two police inspectors call, Henry, Vic, Betty and a bemused (and tipsy) Jean are forced into a frantic game of cat and mouse. The two couples have to assume various identities in their battle to keep the money
Produced and directed by Sylvia Wright
Steve Vere has fond memories of Tony Wood hurtling around the stage in a wheelchair! Tony is listed as Front of House so we presume this wasn’t in the script!
