1953-10 (BC) Housemaster

Ian Hay’s play depicts the conflict between a puritanical younger headmaster and a wise housemaster at an English public school with the action complicated by the unexpected incursion of two women and two girls who have to be accommodated in the otherwise all-male establishment

Ruby Ibbotson produces.  This is Eileen White’s first appearance, as “Button” Faringdon

The review says that Roy Ollerearnshaw “might have been measured for the part of Beamish”, although his moustache “belonged to a character quite different”.  It also grumbles that the car noises and the cars were at opposite sides of the stage!
