1986-10 (BC) Ladies in retirement

In Edward Percy and Reginald Denham’s play, Miss Fiske (Caroline Oakley) lives in a remote house with her companion, Ellen Creed (Kath Pagdin).  Ellen, who has devoted her life to her sisters, Louisa and Emily (simple-minded maiden ladies played by Deborah Hester and Helen Mills), invites them to visit her.  These eccentric persons make themselves at home, but when Miss Fiske reminds Ellen it is time for them to go back, they are unwilling to do so.  Miss Fiske and Ellen quarrel, and then Miss Fiske disappears…

Produced by Brenda Hester.  Elaine Claxton joined, on Wardrobe.  She’ll stay for 24 years
